Social Work Student Spotlight – Emily Henry

March 12, 2024 — Meigs County native, Emily Henry, is a full-time student majoring in social work. She will graduate in May and transfer to Tennessee Wesleyan University to pursue a bachelor’s degree in social work. Her goal is to work for a non-profit organization or a local school system. Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society Named REACH Chapter

March 06, 2024 — The Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) chapter at Cleveland State Community College has been named a 2023 REACH Chapter by the national Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. The recognition celebrates and rewards PTK chapters excelling in membership engagement by achieving exceptionally high rates of membership acceptance in the 2023 calendar year. Entrepreneurship Event - Student and Community Pitch Winners

March 06, 2024 — The George R. Johnson Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at Cleveland State Community College recently hosted an Entrepreneurship Event that included student and community pitch competitions as well as a vendor expo with local businesses. The two-day event was sponsored by the Lynn Jones Foundation, the Cleveland Bradley Business Incubator and the Small Business Development Center. Jason Byrne’s Journey of Education and Purpose

January 29, 2024 — With a desire to learn how the brain works and why people are all different, Jason Byrnes, returned to college in his 30s and graduated with a degree in social work at Cleveland State Community College. Sandra Godsey – From Student to Dean

January 22, 2024 — Before she even graduated high school, Sandra Godsey, spent her summers working in the career planning and placement center at Cleveland State Community College while her mother took classes. More than 20 years later, Godsey has been named the Dean of Business and Health Professions at the college – a position she never thought possible when she was a teenager.
