January 07, 2022 — Cleveland State Community College invites the public to join the third annual “I Have a Dream” Weekend in celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The weekend of activities was created to honor Dr. King and his efforts of equality within our nation. Seniors at Polk County High Receives Post Graduation Assistance from CSCC

January 07, 2022 — Cleveland State Community College was invited to speak to the Senior Capstone Classes at Polk County High School on December 3 about post graduation options. Students had questions regarding scholarships, academic programs, as well as balancing work and class schedules. Cleveland State representatives from admissions, recruiting, entrepreneurship, as well as the Advanced Technologies Institute were able to discuss some of the many opportunities available for students at Cleveland State. One Cleveland State Alum Steps Down While Another Steps Up to Run CSCC Bookstore

December 20, 2021 — When Mike Jaynes was enrolled at Cleveland State Community College over 20 years ago, he had no idea he would one day return to run the CSCC bookstore (owned by Follett), but that’s exactly what happened. Now, seven years and a promotion under his belt, Jaynes will be leaving his alma mater to pursue his new role as a Digital Operations Manager for Follett. CEO Club at CSCC Donates Dozens of Goods to Cougar Den Food Pantry

December 20, 2021 — Student-based clubs and organizations at Cleveland State Community College are encouraged to give back during the holiday season. The CEO Club at the college decided to give back to the one place they knew would benefit most, the Cougar Den Food Pantry. In total, The CEO Club donated 415 items to the food pantry. Grand Opening of the The George R. Johnson Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at CSCC

November 18, 2021 — Cleveland State Community College is inviting the public to the grand opening of The George R. Johnson Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation. The event will be held on the college’s campus on Wednesday, November 17 at 2 PM. The concept for the Center started with a conversation with the Johnson Family Board of Directors. Collectively, the college came up with an idea to create a Center honoring George Johnson in the business field. These conversations eventually led us to this new Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation. Read more about Grand Opening of the The George R. Cleveland State President Dr. Bill Seymour Announces Retirement Plans

November 10, 2021 — Cleveland State President, Dr. Bill Seymour, has announced his plans to retire during the summer of 2022. Seymour began his CEO duties at the college in January of 2014. He told CSCC employees during a Town Hall meeting that he believes this will be a good time to step-down both for himself and the college. Mother, Wife, and Student: Carley Whaley Strives to Become a Nurse

December 20, 2021 — Cleveland State Community College gives the opportunity for non-traditional students to have another chance at following their career passions. Carley Whaley saw her opportunity and took it. Now, she is driven to fulfill her calling as a nurse. During the pandemic, she saw the need for nurses in healthcare. She decided to be a part of the frontline workers, working to take care of those who can't always take care of themselves. Former CSCC Faculty Leaves Thousands of Dollars in Estate to School

December 06, 2021 — Helen Darcey was an Associate Professor of mathematics at Cleveland State Community College since 1979. She passed away in 2019 leaving The Cleveland State Community College Foundation an estate donation of approximately $60,000.
