Cigliano stepping down as CSCC men's basketball coach

October 11, 2021 — For the last 25 years, Lee Cigliano has been a fixture on the sidelines as he guided the Cleveland State Community College men's basketball team. Now, after a very successful career as head coach of the Cougars, Cigliano has decided to pass the torch to assistant coach Rafael Howard. Lee McChesney Chosen as the New Director of Development

September 30, 2021 — Cleveland State Community College has added an individual to the Advancement team that has years of experience supporting and leading the Bradley County community. Lee McChesney started his role as the Director of Development in August of this year. In his role, he will provide leadership for developing and implementing fundraising programs, including major gifts and planned giving. Noah Graybeal Chosen as the 2021 Community First Award Honoree for Student Leadership

September 22, 2021 — In the midst of the pandemic, we heard medical professional opinions and trusted local leaders to help guide us through such an unprecedented time, but a McMinn County teenager showed us that no matter the age, anyone can bring new and innovative ideas to aid the community. Noah Graybeal engineered a protective mask to help his community avoid the virus as much as possible, and for that Cleveland State Community College has chosen him as the 2021 Community First Award honoree for Student Leadership. Heather Brown Promoted to Director of Workforce Development

September 20, 2021 — Cleveland State Community College introduces Heather Brown as the new Director of Workforce Development. Workforce Development at Cleveland State offers customized training for business and industry within the college’s five county region. Mary T. Barker Humanities Building Open After Renovations

The Humanities renovation was part of the college’s revitalization project. The total project cost was $25 Million with $2.5 Million allocated from fundraising and $22.5 Million from state funding. CSCC Welcomes SWAP Students from Yellowstone National Park

August 26, 2021 — Cleveland State Community College recently welcomed students back from Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming as part of the Student Wildlands Adventure Program (SWAP). SWAP is a student exchange program that allows students to gain experience in other parts of the country at little or no expense to them. CSCC Student Athletes Named to the NJCAA All-American Teams and NJCAA Team Academic Award

July 29, 2021 — Not only are the student athletes competitive in their games at Cleveland State Community College, but they’re also dominating in the classrooms. The CSCC athletic department would like to recognize 16 student athletes for being named in the NJCAA All-Academic teams for the 2020-2021 year. 2021 Community First Award Honorees Selected

July 28, 2021 — The results are in! The 6th annual Community First Awards Committee received dozens of nominations seeking to honor individuals across five categories. Nominations were selected based on this year’s theme of putting the community first during a world-wide pandemic. There were a total of 10 honorees for the individual categories. Sumner Chosen as 2021 Community First Award Honoree for Public Service

August 23, 2021 — It takes much dedication and discipline to keep a city safe and educated about the many resources available in their backyard. Being raised in Athens, Seth Sumner takes his job duties as City Manager with pride. As the pandemic started to invoke fear and challenges into our everyday lives, he took it as an opportunity to grow stronger with his community through providing factual information, resources, and safety for others. Through his many efforts and projects during the pandemic, Cleveland State has awarded him with the Community First Award for Public Service. Fox Chosen As Community First Award Honoree for Education

August 16, 2021 — One of the hardest aspects of change people had to learn during the pandemic was social distancing. Like other community colleges and universities around the world, Cleveland State faced the challenge of giving students, faculty, and staff access to education and operational needs while maintaining a safe distance from each other. As the Vice President Finance and Chief Operating Officer, Alisha Fox accepted that challenge and made it her duty to restore efficiency and access for anyone connected with CSCC during the pandemic.
