CLEVELAND, TN - The Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) chapter at Cleveland State Community College has been named a 2023 REACH Chapter by the national Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. The recognition celebrates and rewards PTK chapters excelling in membership engagement by achieving exceptionally high rates of membership acceptance in the 2023 calendar year.

The Omega Omicron Chapter at Cleveland State will receive six PTK graduation stoles that will be worn by the chapter officers during graduation in May as a special recognition for this honor. The chapter was chartered in 1973 and has 142 members enrolled this semester. Students must have completed at least 12 credit hours with a 3.25 grade point average or higher to qualify for membership.

Sara Amato, PTK Advisor, said, “I am grateful for the benefits students are able to receive from PTK in support of their efforts and endeavors. PTK students have demonstrated great academic accomplishments.”

Phi Theta Kappa is the first honor society recognizing the academic achievement of students at associate degree-granting colleges and helping them to grow as scholars and leaders. The society is made up of more than 4.2 million members and nearly 1,300 chapters in 11 countries, with approximately 240,000 active members in the nation’s colleges.
