Work-Based Learning Unlocks Opportunities for Students

November 27, 2023 — A medical office technology major, Larose Elve is already a licensed Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) and works in home healthcare. She recently started her work-based learning internship at Kaful Family Practice in Cleveland. The work-based learning program gives students the opportunity for hands-on training in their career field, all while earning college credit. Inspiring Pianist Visits Cleveland State

November 17, 2023 — Cleveland State Foundation will host one of Britain’s most inspiring pianists on Thursday, Feb. 22, 2024. Nicholas McCarthy was born without his right hand and rose above many obstacles to study at the Royal College of Music in London. Family Kitchen to Inmate Rehabilitation - Kezmond Pugh’s Culinary Journey

November 08, 2023 — “I was raised in a family of love, and everything I remember had food around it,” shares Kezmond Pugh, culinary instructor for Cleveland State’s Workforce Development Department. “I remember being at my great grandmother’s house for Sunday dinners. Elder Care Workshop

October 22, 2023 — The community is invited to a free Elder Care Workshop on Saturday, Nov. 4, 8:45 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. in the Humanities Building on the Cleveland State Community College campus. Topics will include care options, safety and physical activity, fall prevention, technology assistance for elder safety, communication strategies, advanced directives information and more. Chad Laxton – Welding Instructor in Blue Pants

September 29, 2023 — Chad Laxton grew up in Tuscumbia, Alabama, but the Ocoee River and wrestling brought him to Bradley County. In 2002, he became a history teacher and wrestling coach at Bradley Central High School (BCHS). Now, he combines his teaching and coaching experience as the welding instructor at Cleveland State.
