What is Business Concentration: Business A.A.S.?

The Associate of Applied Science in Business Concentration: Business A.A.S. allows students to specialize in several areas of business. Advisors can assist students in making career choices. This is an occupational program designed to equip students for employment.

What will I learn?

Upon completion of this program, students will be able to do the following:

  1. Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively, think critically, and develop problem solving skills while utilizing quantitative data in business situations through physical or virtual presence in writing, speaking, listening, and electronic data.
  2. Demonstrate a basic understanding of the American free enterprise system.
  3. Demonstrate an understanding of the basic interaction of supply and demand.  
  4. Apply business and management knowledge through employability of skills
  5. Interpret accounting information, marketing practices, and economic data to be creative with business solutions

What is Business and Management Technical Certificate ?

This certificate is intended to prepare individuals for employment in a variety of business settings and positions.  This certificate is not a transfer certificate, although many institutions accept all or part of the course work toward the bachelor’s degree.

What is Business Concentration: Business A.A.S. ADVANCE Option ?

The Associate of Applied Science in Business Concentration: Business A.A.S.  is also offered in a cohort schedule for working adults to complete their degree in 16 months by going year-round including summer semester.  In the Advance Business Option, students take their courses in a block scheduling format as a group.  Classes are accelerated, meeting only on Thursday nights in either Cleveland,  Athens or Monroe County Center.  Several courses in the option are offered online as well.  Students must contact the Business Department for more information or for acceptance into this option:  advance_business@clevelandstatecc.edu or 423-472-7141, Ext. 478 or 245.
