What is Nursing?
The Associate of Applied Science degree in Nursing is designed to prepare students for employment to practice as a professional registered nurse (RN) in public, private, and governmental healthcare sectors.
“Professional nurse” functions include:
Completion of the nursing program at Cleveland State does not guarantee ability to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN). However, graduation with an Associate of Applied science degree in nursing is one of the requirements of the Board of Nursing to be eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN) to become a registered professional nurse.
The Nursing program is approved by the Tennessee Board of Nursing.
