New Director of Human Resources at Cleveland State Community College

Cleveland State Community College recently welcomed a new Director of Human Resources. Kellie Frank started her position at the college in May after the former Director of Human Resources, Joan Bates, retired after 41 years. 

“Replacing an employee who has served the college for over 40 years, such as Joan Bates, is a challenging task,” stated Dr. Seymour. “However, we are very fortunate to find an outstanding new director who brings excellent experience from within the Tennessee Board of Regents family.  The transition has been very smooth and we have great confidence in Kellie Frank's ability to strengthen our HR functions.”

Frank has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and a Master’s degree in Human Resource Management from Argosy University. She has over 13 years of experience within Human Resources, handling public and private employees. Seven of those years she’s worked with the TBR system working on finance, payroll, counseling, case management, and benefits administration.

Since working in her career, Frank takes pride in providing employee relations support that improves performance and relationships. She has experience in organizational effectiveness and development while taking an effort to value the employee’s well-being.

“I am very excited to be at Cleveland State Community College,” states Frank. “Having already worked for a community college and understanding the large impact a community college has on their community, I was drawn to Cleveland State. The college has an integral role in enriching the community in which I reside, and I wanted to be a part of serving my own community.”
