CLEVELAND, TN. – Cleveland State Community College will host a celebration for social work students, community partners, university representatives and alumni in honor of National Social Work Month on March 28.

The event will include a luncheon and themed door prizes. The Social Work Department has hosted this event since 2005 as a way to celebrate the social work profession and current and future social workers.

Representatives from various universities with College of Social Work Programs will attend the celebration to assist current students who are planning on transferring to their institutions. Cleveland State’s Social Work Emphasis Program has articulation agreements with UTC, UTK, Dalton State College, Southern Adventist University, Tennessee Wesleyan University, MTSU and ETSU.

Jana Pankey, MSSW, Associate Professor, Social Work Emphasis/Program Coordinator, said, “In honor of National Social Work Month, the Social Work Program at Cleveland State Community College wants to celebrate the amazing profession of social work and future social workers who will be entering the profession after their educational journey is complete. Students begin their academic careers here and then go on to achieve great things in the field of social work, and we feel that this needs to be acknowledged and celebrated.”
