Million Dollars To Cleveland State

November 11, 2019 — As soon as Cleveland State Community College President Dr. Bill Seymour dots all the I’s and crosses all the T’s, the Tennessee Board of Regents College of the Year will be the proud recipient of a million dollar grant. The award, which actually will amount to $999,956.00, will help grow advanced technology and work-based learning opportunities for present and future students of Cleveland State. CSCC Awarded $100,000 Grant from DENSO for STEM Education

August 13, 2019 — Cleveland State Community College, a leading educational institution, received a $100,000 grant from the world’s second largest mobility supplier DENSO for programs focused on science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). The grant, which is made possible by the company’s philanthropic arm, DENSO North America Foundation (DNAF), is one of 26 grants awarded by DENSO in 2019 to colleges and universities throughout North America. The donations are part of DENSO’s broader efforts to cultivate tomorrow’s workforce and prepare young thinkers to lead a new era of innovation. CSCC Plans Reconnect Information Sessions in July

July 15, 2019 — Cleveland State Community College will be hosting a variety of Reconnect Information Sessions at all sites throughout the month of July. On Tuesday, July 9 from 4-6 p.m. there will be a session at the Monroe County Center. On Tuesday, July 16, there will be a session from 4-6 p.m. at the Athens Center, and on Thursday, July 23, there will be a session in the Enrollment Services Center in the George L. CSCC Names Fifth Class of Presidential Scholars

May 31, 2019 — Cleveland State Community College recently named its fifth class of Presidential Honors Scholarships. The Presidential Honors Scholarship is a merit-based scholarship for the top high school graduates who attend CSCC. Students must be accepted into the CSCC Honors Program and will also participate in a Presidential Leadership Program. The Presidential Honors Scholarship is designed to assist students with books and other educational expenses, such as non-mandatory fees. CSCC’s Advance Program is Coming to Monroe County!

May 31, 2019 — Exciting news for working adults in Monroe County! Starting this fall, Cleveland State Community College will now offer these students the opportunity to earn their Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree in Business in 16 months at the Monroe County Center. May 31, 2019 — Cleveland State Community College will be hosting a variety of Reconnect Information Sessions at all sites throughout the month of June. On Thursday, June 6 from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m., there will be a session in the Enrollment Services Center in the George L. Mathis Student Center on the main campus. Sutherland Applies Skills Learned from CSCC to Save a Life

May 07, 2019 — Cleveland State student Brandt Sutherland has a reason to thank his instructor, Dr. Eddy Dye. A few weeks ago, Sutherland was able to apply the lessons he learned from Dye’s Anatomy and Physiology class and perform the Heimlich maneuver saving the life of his best friend who was  choking at the time. Dual Enrollment Students Graduate with Associate Degrees Before High School Diplomas

May 07, 2019 — Julianne Carter and Savannah Buffington are not your normal community college graduates. They are dually enrolled home schooled students who graduated from Cleveland State Community College on Saturday with associate degrees before they officially even graduate with their high school diplomas! Both girls received medallions honoring students completing a post-secondary credential while still in high school. FYS Students Use Service-Learning Project to Make a Difference

Bradley Central and Walker Valley High Schools Pass Level 1 SMSCP Certifications

April 16, 2019 — Cleveland State Community College recently held a ceremony for students from Bradley Central and Walker Valley High Schools who successfully passed the Siemens Mechatronics Systems Certification Program (SMSCP) Level 1 certification. Students take the first four of ten mechatronics courses in the first semester to be prepared for the Level 1 certification. Cleveland State’s Advanced Technologies department is a partner school with the SMSCP, a globally recognized technology leader in mechatronic engineering. CSCC’s PTK Omega Omicron Chapter Brings Home Multiple Awards

March 29, 2019 — Members of Cleveland State Community College’s Omega Omicron Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society have a reason to smile after bringing home several awards from the recent Phi Theta Kappa Regional conference. PTK members and advisors from different chapters competed for recognition in the Society’s Hallmarks of Scholarship, Leadership, Service and Fellowship at the Tennessee Regional Conference held at Jackson State Community College in Jackson, Tennessee. CSCC Voted College of the Year

March 25, 2019 — Cleveland State Community College has reason to celebrate! During the first Statewide Outstanding Achievement Recognition (SOAR) event held Wednesday night in Nashville, the College System of Tennessee honored Cleveland State as College of the Year taking home the gleaming new College Cup. CSCC’S ECED Program Celebrates 15 Years of Dr. Seuss

February 18, 2019 — CSCC will host the 15th annual Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss celebration on Saturday, March 2. The event will take place from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. in Cleveland State’s Library and is sponsored by the Early Childhood Education program and the CSCC Library.
