The Morning Pointe Foundation has added Cleveland State Community College as its tenth community college partner as it works to provide scholarship support for more nursing students in the Bradley, Meigs, McMinn, Monroe and Polk County region.

"Morning Pointe Senior Living anticipates the growing need for qualified caregivers as a large segment of our population is aging. Through scholarship support, Morning Pointe partners with colleges and universities to help promote excellent healthcare professionals," officials said.

“Partners like Cleveland State Community College are critical to the success of the Morning Pointe
Foundation as we strive to provide financial support for nursing students pursuing a career in geriatric care,” said Audra Hopkins, executive director. “Together with the collaborative efforts of Cleveland State leadership, we are thrilled to be able to serve these students.”

"It is great that the clinical agencies like Morning Pointe are willing to partner with us, not only in
providing clinical experiences for our students, but also to support them in the way of scholarships,” said Nancy Thomas, director of Nursing at Cleveland State Community College. “This partnership strengthens the program and our students and ultimately increases the number of nurses available to provide care."

The Morning Pointe Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Morning Pointe Senior Living and was
founded in 2014 by senior healthcare entrepreneurs Greg A. Vital and J. Franklin Farrow. The 501(c)3 non-profit organization provides nursing scholarship opportunities, forms community partnerships and supports caregivers in its mission to advance the care of seniors.

“As we enter a time period where the greatest generation is aging at a faster rate, skilled caregivers like our Morning Pointe Foundation scholars are an incredibly precious resource. There is nothing that can replace their compassionate care and medical knowledge,” said Greg A. Vital, president of Morning Pointe Senior Living.

Since its inception, the Morning Pointe Foundation has funded over 60 nursing scholarships at partner community colleges—including Tennessee College of Applied Technology in Athens and in Jacksboro, Chattanooga State Community College, Columbia State Community College and Tusculum University.

"Morning Pointe Senior Living is the region’s choice for assisted living and Alzheimer’s memory care, with seven locations serving the Tennessee Valley region," officials said. "Morning Pointe Senior Living first endowed the nursing scholarship program at Chattanooga State in
Chattanooga when it began contributing funds in 2008. It has also been one of the lead co-sponsors since 2012 for the First In Family Program at Chattanooga State highlighting first college graduates."
