CSCC Honors Program Brings Home Award

June 17, 2019 — The Cleveland State Community College Honors Program received the Outstanding Instructional Program Award at the 2019 Community Colleges of Appalachia Annual Conference held this past week in Asheville, NC. CSCC Names Fifth Class of Presidential Scholars

May 31, 2019 — Cleveland State Community College recently named its fifth class of Presidential Honors Scholarships. The Presidential Honors Scholarship is a merit-based scholarship for the top high school graduates who attend CSCC. Students must be accepted into the CSCC Honors Program and will also participate in a Presidential Leadership Program. The Presidential Honors Scholarship is designed to assist students with books and other educational expenses, such as non-mandatory fees. CSCC’s Advance Program is Coming to Monroe County!

May 31, 2019 — Exciting news for working adults in Monroe County! Starting this fall, Cleveland State Community College will now offer these students the opportunity to earn their Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree in Business in 16 months at the Monroe County Center. An information session on this program has been scheduled for Thursday, June 20 at the CSCC Monroe County Center located at 121 Grand Vista in Vonore from 6-8 p.m. Read more about CSCC’s Advance Program is Coming to Monroe County!

CSCC Plans Reconnect Information Sessions

May 31, 2019 — Cleveland State Community College will be hosting a variety of Reconnect Information Sessions at all sites throughout the month of June. On Thursday, June 6 from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m., there will be a session in the Enrollment Services Center in the George L. Mathis Student Center on the main campus. On Thursday, June 20, there will be a session at the Athens Center from 4-6 p.m. and one at the Monroe County Center on Thursday, June 27, also from 4-6 p.m.   Read more about CSCC Plans Reconnect Information Sessions

A Partnership of Success: The Refuge Career Connection and CSCC’s OneSource Mig Welding Training

May 31, 2019 — The Refuge and Cleveland State Community College Workforce Development recently held a graduation for seven students who participated successfully in all elements of The Refuge Career Connection, a two-part workforce training that prepares individuals for long-term careers. Sutherland Applies Skills Learned from CSCC to Save a Life

May 07, 2019 — Cleveland State student Brandt Sutherland has a reason to thank his instructor, Dr. Eddy Dye. A few weeks ago, Sutherland was able to apply the lessons he learned from Dye’s Anatomy and Physiology class and perform the Heimlich maneuver saving the life of his best friend who was  choking at the time. Dual Enrollment Students Graduate with Associate Degrees Before High School Diplomas

May 07, 2019 — Julianne Carter and Savannah Buffington are not your normal community college graduates. They are dually enrolled home schooled students who graduated from Cleveland State Community College on Saturday with associate degrees before they officially even graduate with their high school diplomas! Both girls received medallions honoring students completing a post-secondary credential while still in high school. FYS Students Use Service-Learning Project to Make a Difference

April 23, 2019 — Dual enrollment students in Cleveland State Community College’s First Year Seminar (FYS) class at Cleveland High School are making a difference in their classmates’ lives through their service-learning project. The students decided to raise money to help their special needs classmates attend the Cleveland High School Prom on May 4 at the Museum Center at 5ive Points. Puryear to Address Graduates at CSCC’s Spring Commencement Ceremony

April 16, 2019 — Cleveland State Community College will hold its annual spring Commencement Ceremony on Saturday, May 4 at 10 a.m. in the L. Quentin Lane Gymnasium. Dr. Carol G. Bradley Central and Walker Valley High Schools Pass Level 1 SMSCP Certifications

April 16, 2019 — Cleveland State Community College recently held a ceremony for students from Bradley Central and Walker Valley High Schools who successfully passed the Siemens Mechatronics Systems Certification Program (SMSCP) Level 1 certification. Students take the first four of ten mechatronics courses in the first semester to be prepared for the Level 1 certification. Cleveland State’s Advanced Technologies department is a partner school with the SMSCP, a globally recognized technology leader in mechatronic engineering. April 16, 2019 — A Mind at Work: Maximizing the Relationship Between Mindset and Student Success, a report released by the Center for Community College Student Engagement (the Center), indicates that students who have more productive academic mindsets are more engaged and have higher GPAs. April 01, 2019 — Cleveland State Community College will be offering a new class this fall, RIM 2000 History of the Recording Industry. CSCC’s PTK Omega Omicron Chapter Brings Home Multiple Awards

March 29, 2019 — Members of Cleveland State Community College’s Omega Omicron Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society have a reason to smile after bringing home several awards from the recent Phi Theta Kappa Regional conference. PTK members and advisors from different chapters competed for recognition in the Society’s Hallmarks of Scholarship, Leadership, Service and Fellowship at the Tennessee Regional Conference held at Jackson State Community College in Jackson, Tennessee. CSCC Voted College of the Year

March 25, 2019 — Cleveland State Community College has reason to celebrate! During the first Statewide Outstanding Achievement Recognition (SOAR) event held Wednesday night in Nashville, the College System of Tennessee honored Cleveland State as College of the Year taking home the gleaming new College Cup. CSCC’S ECED Program Celebrates 15 Years of Dr. Seuss

February 18, 2019 — CSCC will host the 15th annual Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss celebration on Saturday, March 2. The event will take place from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. in Cleveland State’s Library and is sponsored by the Early Childhood Education program and the CSCC Library.
