CLEVELAND, Tenn. – Alisha Fox, Cleveland State’s Assistant Vice President of Finance and Operations, was recently elected to serve as the Vice President of Regional Services for 2017-2018 of the Community College Business Officers (CCBO) organization.

CCBO was founded in 1983 as the National Council of Community College Business Officials. An Affiliated Council of the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC) since 1984, the Association has been serving the needs of business officers nationwide through conferences, leadership programs, professional development and networking opportunities. CCBO is widely recognized as the premier community college association serving current and future business officers and other professionals throughout the United States and Canada.

“I am excited and honored to be selected for Vice President of Regional Services, especially being a newer member of the organization,” stated Fox. “I am very grateful to work at a wonderful institution, Cleveland State Community College, which encourages professional development and supported—not only by my participation in the leadership academy, but my serving on the board, as well.”

The Vice President of Regional Services is responsible for membership services; serves as Chair of the Membership and Marketing Committee; assists regional directors in providing CCBO services, including special regional workshops, programs at state meetings, etc.; and performs other duties assigned by the President.

Fox said she is looking forward to inviting new members into the organization and helping continue the legacy of being a community college focused organization.

“This is a great organization of knowledgeable individuals that are passionate about higher education and specifically community colleges. CCBO is made up of a diverse range of members in different stages of their careers, each bringing unique skillsets. I enjoy working with such a great group of people interested in driving our profession forward.”

Fox continued, “On the Cleveland State side, I am looking forward to spreading the word, via conference presentations and web based seminars, to other colleges about the exciting innovations and program efficiencies Cleveland State has implemented. I also personally look forward to the networking and idea sharing that happens among the membership base of CCBO that I can bring back and share with our Cleveland State team.”

Tommy Wright, CSCC Vice President for Finance and Advancement, said, “Alisha's election to the CCBO as the Vice President of Regional Services is well deserved.  She is a proven leader and asset to our campus, and I'm certain she'll bring that same great leadership to in this new CCBO leadership role.”

Fox received her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC) and her Master of Public Administration  degree from Valdosta State University. She is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Public Administration  at Valdosta State with a concentration in Community College Leadership through East Tennessee State University (ETSU).
