CLEVELAND, Tenn. – The Cleveland State Community College Wildlife Society is hosting  its Annual Wild Game Dinner on Saturday, April 8 at 5:30 p.m. in the George R. Johnson Cultural Heritage Center. Admission is free, but donations are accepted. Any money raised from this dinner will go to fund activities for the Student Chapter of the Wildlife Society.

“The proceeds from this game dinner will be used to support Wildlife Society activities,” stated Robert Brewer, Associate Professor of Biology / Wildlife Society Sponsor. “As the wildlife program grows, mores supplies for research and the classroom will be needed. The Student Chapter of The Wildlife Society hopes to ease the burden on the college by purchasing some of those supplies through fundraisers like this.”

“We are very excited about the wild game dinner because this is our biggest fundraiser for the Wildlife Society,” stated David Wright, President of the Wildlife Society. “We will have a little bit of everything there—wild hog, deer, bear, moose, elk, squirrel and rabbit. We cook everything, and all of the meat is something we killed in the Wildlife Society. We hope everyone will come out and try new things. People can also bring a side dish or a donation and receive free door prize tickets.”

In addition to the dinner, Kim DeLozier, Retired Wildlife Biologist for the Great Smokey Mountains National Parks and author of Bear in the Backseat 1 and II, will be the keynote speaker for the event at 6:30 p.m.

There will be door prizes and a silent auction during the dinner.  For more information on the wild game dinner, contact Brewer at (423) 472-7141, ext. 342.
