Cleveland State Students Participate in TISL

December 09, 2016 — Cleveland State Community College had nine members of its Student Senate participate in the 47th General Assembly of the Tennessee Intercollegiate State Legislature (TISL) held at the state Capital recently. Students served as either house members, senators, media representatives or lobbyists and were part of a total group of more than 300 students from nearly 40 different colleges and universities across the state. CSCC Music Department Presents Holiday Concert

Hodgson Chosen as First Student to Serve on President’s Cabinet

November 02, 2016 — CSCC student Haley Hodgson will make history as the first Student Senate President to serve on the President’s Cabinet. Hodgson was recently asked by CSCC President Dr. Bill Seymour to join his executive team—the first time in the college’s history where a student was chosen for such a prestigious role. CSCC’S Broling Chosen as the 2016 Coca-Cola Leader of Promise Scholar

November 02, 2016 — Cleveland State Student Mikaela Broling has been selected as a 2016 Coca-Cola Leader of Promise Scholar. Broling is one of 200 scholars to receive a scholarship in the amount of $1000. This scholarship is designed to provide new Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) members with financial resources to help defray educational expenses while enrolled in a two-year college while also encouraging participation in Society programs. October 17, 2016 — Governor Haslam recently announced the recipients of the Labor Education Alignment Program (LEAP) competition, and Cleveland State Community College, in partnership with Pellissippi State Community College and the Tennessee Center of Applied Technology (TCAT) at Knoxville received $959,267 as a part of the grant. October 10, 2016 — For Basketball Coach Lee Cigliano, Cleveland State Community College is not only his job, it’s home. Cigliano was raised at CSCC. Father Jim Cigliano was the third employee hired at CSCC and worked there for almost 40 years before retiring from the college in 2005, so Lee has been around the college his whole life. Historic Announcement for CSCC

September 20, 2016 — An exciting announcement was made at Cleveland State Community College on Tuesday. CSCC President Dr. Bill Seymour informed the faculty and staff that the Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR) approved a state-wide list of recommended capital outlay requests including $48.75M for CSCC to fund the first new classroom building on the campus in over 40 years. Cleveland State to Host Tennessee Promise Saturday / Open House on Oct. 1

September 19, 2016 — Cleveland State Community College will be hosting its Tennessee Promise Saturday on Saturday, October 1 from 9 a.m – 1 p.m. in Room 108 of the Career Education Building on the main campus. Also, on the same day, there will be an open house from 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. in the George R. Johnson Cultural Heritage Center. The open house is for high school seniors, as well as students who have already graduated high school. Whether you have never attended college or have worked for a while, but desire a career change, this day is for you! CSCC Receives DENSO North America Foundation Grant

August 16, 2016 — Cleveland State Community College recently received a $150,000 DENSO North America Foundation (DNAF) grant. These grant funds will be used to purchase competency based hydraulic / pneumatic manufacturing training equipment. The equipment will provide educational opportunities for students to learn using real-world industrial processes. CSCC and UTC Sign Honors Articulation Agreement

August 16, 2016 — Cleveland State Community College and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC) recently signed an honors articulation agreement that will allow students from Cleveland State’s honor’s program to transfer into UTC’s Honor’s College in their Innovations in Honors (IIH) program. Cleveland State to Offer Technology for Teachers Class Fall Semester

August 12, 2016 — Cleveland State Community College will be offering a class for teachers this fall entitled INFS/EDU 1100, Technology for Teachers. Cleveland State Seeks Nursing Collaboration with Chattanooga State

August 12, 2016 — Cleveland State has agreed to a Letter of Intent with Chattanooga State to develop a collaboration to ensure the seamless continuation of nursing education on the Cleveland State campus. Hodgson, a 2015 graduate of Cleveland High School, was chosen to serve as the President, while Owens, a 2015 graduate of Homelife Academy, will serve as Vice President. CSCC Brings Technology Certificates to Northern Region

Cleveland State Students Receive Coca-Cola Scholarships

March 30, 2016 — CSCC students Bryan Hidalgo and Anna McDade have been selected as 2016 Coca-Cola Community College Academic Team Scholars. Hidalgo was the recipient of the Silver Scholar award receiving a scholarship disbursement of $1,250 and a silver medallion, while McDade was the recipient of the Bronze Scholar award receiving a scholarship disbursement of $1,000 and a bronze medallion. March 14, 2016 — Cleveland State Community College’s Omega Omicron Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society was recently honored at the annual Tennessee Region Phi Theta Kappa Convention at Roane State Community College in Harriman, TN. Members and advisors from 14 Tennessee chapters competed for recognition in the Society’s Hallmarks of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Fellowship. March 03, 2016 — The results are in! Cleveland State’s Community First Awards Committee received 64 nominations seeking to honor individuals across nine categories. Nominations were judged based on the nominees’ extraordinary commitment of time, talent or treasure to the community. There were a total of ten winners for the individual categories.
