CLEVELAND, Tenn. – Alisha Fox was recently chosen as the Assistant Vice President for Finance and Operations at Cleveland State Community College.
Fox is a graduate of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Valdosta State University where she received her Master of Public Administration and is currently working on her Doctor of Public Administration.
“The college is very fortunate to have Alisha serving in this new role,” stated Dr. Tommy Wright, Vice President for Finance and Advancement. “She has served in an interim capacity in a similar role for more than a year, and during this time she has implemented numerous efficiencies and improved processes in the business office area.”
Prior to accepting her position as the Assistant Vice President for Finance and Operations, Fox served in a number of roles at CSCC including Interim Director of Fiscal Services, Director of Procurement, Disbursement and Contract Services and the Director of Purchasing and Contracts. Prior to accepting these positions at CSCC, she served as the General Manager for the Chattanooga State Bookstore as well as the General Manager for the Cleveland State Bookstore.
In her current position, Fox is responsible for managing institutional accounting and financial services, budget and planning, facility services, procurement and contract services and supervising professional/administrative and classified personnel.
“I really enjoy working in a college atmosphere,” stated Fox. “I enjoy budgeting and problem solving, and that’s what I like about this job. It’s similar to a big puzzle! I never thought I’d enjoy construction and capital, but the fact that we haven’t had a new building in years makes it such an exciting time for us, and I’m happy to have a small part in that. We have a lot of exciting things going on with capital projects right now. There’s a lot of potential here!”
Fox went on to add, “I think we have a really great team at CSCC, not only in finance, but in general. It’s a really great place to work with such a close-knit family environment.”
Although she doesn’t have much spare time at the moment because of school and teaching (she teaches a First Year Seminar class for CSCC) when she does, she and her husband, Tyler, are renovating their house and enjoy traveling.
