CLEVELAND, Tenn. – In light of ITT Technical Institute’s recent announcement to close its doors, Cleveland State Community College invites any students from ITT to schedule a visit to the CSCC campus. Cleveland State is committed to working with these students to help them continue on a path to achieving their goal of earning a credential in a related field. Cleveland State is a public and proud Veteran Friendly comprehensive community college accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission (SACSCOC).
Cleveland State has degree and certificate programs to choose from that can help students continue such as an Industrial Technology Degree with concentrations in Drafting and Design, Electronics, Electro-Mechanical and Computer Information Technology, Business Certificates and Degrees, as well as Criminal Justice.

“We empathize with these students, and want to help them in any way that we can,” stated Jason Sewell, Enrollment Services Director. “Every ITT Tech student’s situation is unique depending on where they are in the process and what has been invested to get there. We can help them determine what credits may transfer and the financial aid path that may be best to pursue.”
For ITT Tech credits that may not automatically transfer, Cleveland State offers processes like Prior Learning Assessment, which can allow students to petition to earn academic credit by assessment or for life and job experience. We also have scholarships that may be available for these students.
Cleveland State encourages ITT Tech students to contact the Enrollment Services Center to find out about the possible transfer of credits and about degree programs similar to those offered by ITT Tech.

Sewell addressed these students directly by saying, “We will strive to help you position yourself in the best possible scenario to start this upcoming spring semester and continue your educational goals.”
