New Student Orientation, Advising, and Registration

Whether you are starting college for the first time, returning to complete or transferring from another institution, it is an exciting time!

After you have applied for admission and been accepted,  you will be ready to schedule yourself to attend the Step 1 Orientation Program.

All NEW FIRST TIME FRESHMAN degree or certificate seeking students must attend Step 1 Orientation.   Students who took dual enrollment classes in high school must reapply to college and are considered New First Time Freshman. New students will not be able to go to Step 2 Academic Planning, Advising and Registration until they have completed Step 1 Orientation.

Readmit and transfer students have the option to attend Step 1 Orientation or just move on to Step 2 Academic Planning, Advising and Registration. Step 2 is the only part readmits and transfer students must attend but must complete admissions requirements prior to attending Step 2 to be eligible to register for classes.

Step 1 Orientation sessions last approximately 2 hours.

Step 1 Orientation

Step 1 Orientation will teach you about using CougarNet, how to complete your Admissions and Financial Aid files, introduce you to the Students Success Center, discuss what Career Communities are to make sure you are in the right major and more.
