What is Technology Essentials Technical Certificate?

Technology Essentials Certificate prepares students for entry level careers in large manufacturing companies for multi-craft industrial machinery as operators or associates. The curriculum includes computer basics, technical math and precision measuring tools and common manufacturing processes. Courses place emphasis on safety, teamwork, communications skills and efficient work practices.

What will I learn?

Upon completion of the Certificate, the graduate will have developed the skills and knowledge and abilities including basics in math tools needed to do the calculations for their job, understanding of the terminology and processes of modern manufacturing processes, basics of computer applications, and common safety practices as used in modern industry.

What is the cost?

  • State residents: $152 per credit hour
  • Out-of-State residents: $475 per credit hour

  • A student is encouraged to apply early for financial aid. He/she must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the FAFSA Renewal Application as soon as possible after October 1 to ensure that the Financial Aid Office receives the Institutional Student Information Record and other documents prior to the priority deadline. July 1st is the priority deadline for applying for the fall semester and December 1st for the spring semester.

  • Congratulations!  After you complete this semester’s courses and maintain an overall 2.0 GPA, you will complete your certificate.  Apply to graduate with your certificate by completing the online Intent to Graduate form under the Graduation Tab within Registration Tools & Forms on Cougarnet.
  • Work with your advisor to discuss the possibility of continuing on to complete a more advanced technical certificate or an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Electro-Mechanical, Electrical Engineering Technology or Mechatronics.
FINANCIAL AID ALERT-Please consult a financial aid specialist and the business office prior to the start of spring classes to check on fees/expenses and to ensure that you are in good standing. If this is your first term of enrollment and you plan to receive aid, the priority deadline to apply or renew your FAFSA and submit any requested documentation is December 1.
