QEP Background

QEP stands for Quality Enhancement Plan and is an important part of the SACSCOC accreditation process.   Cleveland State’s last QEP initiative was focused on the Freshman Year Experience.   It is time for the college to implement a new Quality Enhancement Plan.  The selection of a QEP topic must be broad based, touching all areas of the institution, and the topic select needs to become a focal point for improvement, impacting the college’s programs and services.  The goal of the QEP is to establish a process for continuous improvement in the selected focus area through the implementation of a five-year comprehensive plan.

QEP Timeline

The college needs to implement a new Quality Enhancement Plan and will spend 2021-22 identifying the topic and implementation team, followed by the QEP implementation in 2022-23.  A general timeline outlining the process is listed below.

Fall 2021

Steering Committee works with faculty, staff, and college leadership to identify the new QEP topic.  Once the topic is identified, a QEP Implementation Team will be formed.

Spring 2022

Implementation Team works with faculty, staff, and college leadership to form QEP implementation plan.  Once the plan is formulated, it is approved by the cabinet and President.

2022-23 Academic Year

The QEP is launched in the Fall of 2022 and continues in Spring 2023.  A report on the CSCC QEP is submitted to SACSCOC in Spring 2023 as part of the re-accreditation process.  The first annual report is produced in June 2023 and distributed across the campus.

2023-24 Academic Year

The implementation of the CSCC QEP continues throughout 2022-23.  The SACSCOC site visit in Fall 2023 includes a review of the college’s Quality Enhancement Plan.  The plan may be updated per feedback from the accreditation team and QEP expert. The first annual report is produced in June 2023 and distributed across the campus.

2024 – 2027

Implementation of the CSCC QEP continues through 2026-2027.  Annual reports are produced each June and distributed across the campus.  A final report is issued in June 2027 and results are posted to the CSCC website.
